SIX IAS ACADEMY HOSTELS DECLARED CONTAINMENT ZONES FOR 14 DAYS

Dehradun : After 33 trainee IAS officers from Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, tested positive for Covid-19 in the past few days, six hostels in the campus have been declared as containment zones by the Dehradun district administration.

Ashish Srivastava, district magistrate of Dehradun on Friday issued an order which states, “Following the Uttarakhand Epidemic Diseases, Covid-19 Regulations, 2020 Epidemic Diseases Act 1897 and Disaster Management Act 2005, the parts of the academy where people have been infected by Covid-19 is being declared as a containment zone.”

The order mentions that six hostels; Ganga, Kaveri, Narmada, Silver Wood, Happy Valley, Mahanadi, will be under complete lockdown starting from November 20 and all local residents will remain in their houses. The academy administration has been directed to barricade the area and ensure complete sanitisation. All those residing in these hostels have been asked to immediately inform the authorities if they develop symptoms like cold, cough and fever.

Manish Kumar, sub-divisional magistrate of Mussoorie said, “The institute has been sealed for two days for complete sanitisation as per protocols and the hostels will remain as containment zones for 14 days. All the patients are being taken care of inside the institute itself with continuous monitoring from the district administration.”

The institute on its official Twitter handle informed, “Thirty-three officer trainees have tested Covid-19 positive at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration. A total of 428 Officer Trainees are on campus for the 95th Foundation Course.” HTC
