Chandigarh : The Punjab and Haryana high court has dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of a Gurugram revenue department official booked by state police for cheating and violating rules of the Haryana Urban Development Act.
Naib Tehsildar Desh Raj Kamboj approached the court seeking anticipatory bail on September 14 after he and five others were booked for alleged irregularities in registration of property deeds in Gurugram. He had argued in court that there was no violation as the transferred land was not agriculture land.
However, state’s additional advocate general, Deepak Sabharwal had told the court that revenue records of majority of the lands for which the sale deeds were registered showed otherwise.
He is required to unearth the nexus of the property dealers/ revenue officials including the Patwaris, Tehsildars and other revenue officials on behest of whom sale deeds were being illegally carried out, Sabharwal had told the court. The detailed order from the bench is awaited. htc
