The iconic Jawa motorcycles will hit the city roads by March. With the opening of three dealership showrooms in the city on Thursday, the two bikes from the legendary motorcycle brand — Jawa and Jawa Forty Two — will be available for delivery by March for those who have pre-booked the motorcycle online. The bikes were relaunched in Mumbai last month.

The three showrooms which were opened on for booking and test rides are located in Koramangala, Basavanagudi and Rajajinagar.

“Bengaluru holds a special place in Jawa’s Indian story by being home to the largest Jawa community in India. Jawa fans in the city have kept the brand alive for all these years. Mysuru and Karnataka are integral part of the Jawa legacy and bringing Jawa back to this state is a milestone moment for us,” said Ashish Joshi, chief executive officer, Classic Legends Private Limited which is reintroducing the motorcycle brand.

These outlets are part of the phase-1 launch of the 100-plus Jawa motorcycles dealerships to be opened across the country. Joshi said that two more showrooms would come up soon which will be located in Safina Plaza on Infantry Road and Indiranagar.

He added that the showrooms, apart from sales, would focus on service and spares which is a important aspect for a classic motorcycle.

He said showrooms in other cities across the state would also come up next year. While the Jawa and Jawa Forty Two are powered by 299 cc single cylinder, 4 Stroke, liquid cooled engine. Another bike the custom made Perak powered by 334cc, 30 bhp engine will also be launched some time next year. The bookings are open online as well as at the showroom.

Jawa is a motorcycle brand with a 90-year legacy and of Czech origin. In its heyday, the motorcycles were exported to more than 120 countries.
